Just got back from Fiji yesterday and I'm absolutely surfed out. Waves were in the 15ft+ range for two days and I've never seen waves that mental, it didn't get below 6ft the whole time. Riptide covered the trip but I think it will be in the one after next.

I competed in the Shark Island comp a few days ago and to be honest I had a bit of a barry in my heat, only making one wave and getting smashed on a few. I found it hard to pick the good ones due to the swell having a fair bit of east in it and I didn't realise how much the Island sucks you to the top haha (shown below). Though it was a good experience none the less.

Here's an epic video of the comp. After getting knocked, watching the finals from the headland was insane. The tide got pretty low for the finals which made even more exciting. I'm amped to get into it again next year...

Sorry about the lagging post's, I've been pretty busy lately working and camping/surfing...

Last weekend after being smashed by jet lag (3am wake ups etc) me Jones and Charles drove down for the Island Trials. I've never been the biggest fan of the Trials due to that annoying point wave, which I hate with a passion haha. But reward of getting into the comp out weighs the negatives and this year I just managed to snavel in there... (on a double count back with Finlay ha)

So the waiting period begins, there's a orange light for Friday and it's looking pretty good. I'm physced to get it done early in the waiting period so I'm not on call all the time... fingers crossed for friday.

Arrived back from my adventure last night, it was a 30+ hour trek home but was well worth it. Had some good/hectic times over there with all the Aussies, but god it's good to be home.

The Comp was the best I've ever seen, especially the last day seeing Tamega going nuts was insane. El Gringo (the wave) is so more sketchier then I thought, the end section is pretty much dry and the random 8 footers that come through when its 4ft are really annoying ha.

I'll get some surfing shots up here as soon as I can.

I'm over in Peru living it up at the moment. Just finished the comp with an equal 3rd, so I'm over the moon. I'm off to Chile tomorrow the swell is looking good for Arica. I've got some pretty hectic ulcers so I'm going to have a few rest days to get back in shape hah.

This haunted house is in the middle of the desert, a Peruvian lawyer lives in there by himself.

I Was pretty stoked to win a few local awards over the summer (Australia Day Sportsperson of the Year Award & the Wayne Richards Sporting Talent Grant) was just awesome. To be recognised by your local community is great and shows that bodyboarding is really on the road of recognition as a sport...

You may not have heard but I came away with a win at the Trials event held at Gas Bay. I surfed 5 heats throughout the comp and was absolutely hit for 6 at the end. As you can see here I'm really s**t at public speaking finishing words with a really high tone, pretty funny... a bit of practicing in front of the mirror may help.

And yes I have a missing tooth, long story.

I've been travelling up, down and across the country the last 3 weeks, comping it up. After some fairly average results in Goldy and Central Coast I managed to come away with a win at the Box Trials at Gas Bay (Qualified for Box), which I was stoked about.

I didn't go as well as I would have liked in the Box Comp, but overall I got 20th which isn't too bad. It was the 2nd time I've surfed Box in my heat and the lack of experience showed, getting caught inside in the first minute and getting washed in isn't the ideal way to start a heat haha.
